Myšák Sweet Shop

Located off of bustling Wenceslas Square is the famous Cukrárna Myšák, or the Myšák sweet shop.

Cukrárna Myšák was a legendary sweet shop from 1911 that was situated in a Rondo-Cubist building that collapsed in 2006. In the true spirit of nostalgia for this famous sugar shop it was completely rebuilt and reopened in 2008. In 2017, another renovation was made under the direction of the Najbrt studio, together with professionals from the Ambiente group – the popular Café Savoy is run by this establishment as well. As one of the most popular sweet shops and a definite place to be seen during the First Republic, this famous dessert establishment hosted such famous guests as the First Republic president, T.G. Masaryk and well-known actors such as Oldrich Novy and Adina Mandlova. After the devastating collapse, the only physical evidence of the café’s original interior happened to be old photographs, providing the reconstruction team with a daunting and challenging task. Despite that, the place was spotlessly renovated in the spirit of the First Republic. The original marble staircase is elegantly accompanied by crystal chandeliers and other design elements made of solid wood. A tribute to old times is paid by the shop’s neon sign, based on an original handwritten inscription. We highly recommend the Myšák Caramel Sundae, supposedly a favorite of famous personalities from way back when! You can enjoy it together with a cup of delicious coffee from the Nordbeans roastery. Pop into Cukrárna Myšák, order a delicious afternoon snack and enjoy the sweeter things in life.
