Dry Milk of Virgin Mary

Dry Milk of Virgin Mary is a collective of fashion designers that formed in Prague in 2015.

The collective includes a variety of young fashion & accessories designers including Kateřina Hynková, Mia Jadrna, Eliška Knotková, Tereza Švolíková, and Maria Nina Václavková. These up-and-coming designers share an acute interest in confronting traditional technologies with new materials, labor structure, the combination of décor and simply editing of forms, and a specific concept. These common ideas are interpreted by each designer in her own way, which creates a diverse yet cohesive hole with an overall strong concept of design. For example: Kateřina Hynková prepares garments using technologies applied to punch embroidery on soft-shell fabric, Mia Jadma uses the traditional technique of felting and machine embroidery with her end of the clothing line, Eliška Knotková provides the fashion accessories, which are created with the thermal material Tyvek, Tereza Švolíková also supports the accessories side, using innovative lace-up / sealing techniques with PVC, while Maria Nina Václavková offers a collection of space embroidered / quilted backpacks and slippers with cork platforms. These creative ladies come together and share a very specific design vision that has had critics and well-known designers excited about Dry Milk of Virgin Mary since its induction.
